Mediterranean-inspired, build-your-own plate concept Celebrated its Grand Opening in Manhattan, Kansas

September 20, 2019 // Franchising.com // FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Two years after entering the Sunflower State with its first restaurant in Topeka, KS Gyroville - a Mediterranean-inspired, build-your-own plate franchise -opened in Manhattan, KS last week.

Gyroville, a popular Southeast Florida build-your-own Mediterranean fast-casual franchise, experienced strong response from area residents and students of Manhattan, Kansas, during the opening of its second restaurant in Kansas. Located at 712 North Manhattan Ave in Manhattan, directly across from Kansas State University, Gyroville held its grand opening September 12 and was happy to finally say Yes, we are open!

The overwhelming support from the community demonstrates the excitement for more diverse food. With the increased desire for people to focus on healthy eating, Gyroville is the answer with its emphasis on fresh and the Mediterranean diet.

“It was great to see how much locals love our fresh, modern spin on traditional Mediterranean cuisine,” said Lambros Kokkinelis, founder and CEO of Gyroville. “The Manhattan location is off to a strong start as seen through its strong community support and turnout. The feedback from the locals and students has been very positive.”

The restaurant is owned by Rick Gentry. It is one of Gyroville’s larger locations with a 3,000 square foot space. “It’s a great feeling to bring Gyroville’s authentic Mediterranean cuisine, which guests can customize or order one of our featured items, to Manhattan and to see how well it is received,” Gentry said. “As more people seek healthier eating options, the demand for Mediterranean food will continue to grow.”

Gyroville seeks multi-unit operators and owner-operators to bring the brand to new markets, targeting the Southeastern part of the country, as well as the Midwest and Texas. The company expects to open another location in 2019, along with adding five more signed franchise agreements during the next twelve months to continue steady growth throughout the United States.

“Our franchise has really taken off over the past few years and the future is incredibly bright. We’re so excited to welcome the Gentry family to the Gyroville family, and look forward to feeding the growing consumer demand for the healthful and wide-ranging cuisines of the Mediterranean region,” said Lambros Kokkinelis.

About Gyroville

Founded in 2010 and franchising since 2016, Gyroville was created from the need to fulfill the lack of Mediterranean cuisine in the fast casual market. The Greek-inspired concept allows customers to select from their choice of protein off the grill or carved from a vertical spit , and an array of fresh vegetables and homemade sauces served in a pita, over rice or as a salad. Today, there are 10 locations open and operating in the Unites States.
