Paul Davis Restoration Sponsors U.S. Nationals Firefighter Challenge for National Fire Prevention Awareness Week

September 23, 2019 // Franchising.com // JACKSONVILLE, Florida - As National Fire Prevention Awareness Week approaches (October 6-12, 2019), renowned restoration company Paul Davis is supporting two events during October to support firefighters: The U.S. Nationals Firefighter Challenge in Fort Pierce, Florida (October 4-6) and the World Challenge XXVII in Montgomery, Alabama (October 21-26).

The Firefighter Challenge was launched in 1991 and is a competition to highlight the competitive nature of firefighters while showcasing first responders’ talents and capabilities. The Firefighter Challenge has grown exponentially since its first year when it featured teams from five fire departments in the Washington, D.C. area. Two years later, the challenge had drawn the attention of ESPN and had expanded to include 12 events across the country. Known today as the 3M Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge, Paul Davis Restoration continues to support the event, which draws hundreds of onlookers and continues to encourage firefighter fitness and demonstrate the rigors of the life-saving profession while pitting firefighters against each other to see who is the fastest in the U.S.

The second event in October, the World Challenge XXVII, will follow a similar format, bringing firefighters from around the globe together to compete in a series of five tasks including climbing a five-story tower, dragging heavy hoses and rescuing a life-sized fire victim dummy as they race against the clock and each other.

Paul Davis Restoration will have a strong presence at both events, where company representatives will host exhibits offering giveaways while showing their support for the U.S. firefighting community.

Paul Davis supports this year’s fire safety campaign theme, “Not Every Hero Wears A Cape,” and will run an awareness campaign during October. Activities planned include safety-focused continuing education for insurance and real estate professionals and partnerships with local firefighters to engage in public education initiatives.
