Christian Brothers Automotive Pledges Free Oil Changes and Safety Checks to Individuals in Need Nationwide on Oct. 12

Family-owned auto care and repair brand hosts ninth National Service Day to give back to families and communities

October 11, 2019 // Franchising.com // HOUSTON - Christian Brothers Automotive, the company with the mission to “Love your neighbor as yourself,” is pledging to give back to communities across the country through a coordinated service event this month. On Oct. 12, over 180 stores in the brand’s network will donate oil changes and other free services to individuals in need as part of its ninth annual National Service Day event.

“National Service Day is an incredible opportunity for us to give back and stay connected to the communities we serve. Each year, this event allows us to take one less worry and stressor away from our neighbors who are experiencing a hardship,” said Donnie Carr, president of Christian Brothers Automotive. “By partnering with local churches and other organizations, we’re able to provide oil changes at no cost, while technicians also examine cars, perform free repairs and identify safety concerns.”

Launched in 2005, National Service Day has become a keystone of the brand as the entire company now takes part every year. Built as a way to positively affect local communities, franchisees coordinate with local organizations and churches to identify community members who would benefit from free oil changes or other services.

In 2018, more than 4,600 oil changes were performed and a total of 927 additional vehicles were repaired through Christian Brothers’ National Service Day with referrals from 385 partner organizations. This year, Christian Brothers aims to elevate its impact on National Service Day by donating an even larger number of services to more community members in need across the country.

“I’ve been inspired by the thoughtful ways that our franchisees have chosen to give back to their communities,” added Carr. “When we started, we thought we’d just give away a few free oil changes, but over time National Service Day has grown into so much more. For example, one franchisee last year donated over 70 new sleeping bags and brought in truckloads of blankets and clothes for a local homeless shelter.”

Founded in Mission Bend, Texas in 1982, Christian Brothers Automotive has successfully changed the way customers think about auto care. From the waiting room environment of each shop, which feels more like a family room in a home, to the hassle-free interaction with shop owners and managers, Christian Brothers Automotive provides customers with an informative and comforting assurance.
