G.I.HAUL® Signs First Franchise Agreement

Pittsburgh-based junk and waste removal company headed to Atlanta

October 21, 2019 // Franchising.com // PITTSBURGH - G.I.HAUL® - a Pittsburgh-based, full-service residential and commercial junk and waste removal company that exclusively awards franchises to U.S. military veterans - has signed its first ever franchise agreement.

The agreement is the first of four total that G.I.HAUL hopes to sign in the Atlanta market and has been signed with Todd Mullins. Mullins’ franchise will service most of the North Atlanta metro area.

Mullins began his military career in the Marine Corps as a Private and served as an Aviation Electronics Technician. During that time, he was deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan for seven months in 2004. He currently serves as a Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard as a Biomedical Equipment technician and is scheduled to deploy to Iraq at the end of the year. He is putting his business opening on hold to fulfill his military obligations. His opening date is tentatively slated for September of 2020.

“I knew I wanted to be my own boss and have some independence with my job,” said Mullins. “G.I.HAUL was the perfect opportunity for me because it is a proven concept that has systems in place and provides great business ownership options for veterans. Having other veterans who I can rely on while getting my business going is key and I am excited to bring G.I.HAUL to the North Atlanta area.”

Founded in 2013 by brothers and post 9/11 veterans David and Mike McCloskey, G.I.HAUL has become recognized as one of the best junk removal companies in Pittsburgh. Whether it’s residential or commercial, G.I.HAUL makes the junk removal process easy and affordable, and will pick up just about any junk there is - from household appliances and electronics to furniture and yard debris, and much more. Customers also have the satisfaction of knowing that any items that can be recycled will be.

“The mission of G.I.HAUL is to provide outstanding service to our clients as well as small business ownership opportunities for military veterans,” said David. “We know firsthand that the military instills qualities in veterans that make for great business owners. We are excited to welcome Todd to the G.I.HAUL ranks and look forward to serving the North Atlanta metro area.”

The Atlanta expansion comes less than four months after G.I.HAUL announced its veteran-exclusive franchise opportunity. The company hopes to have as many as three new locations operating within the next 12 months and five total by 2020. They are specifically targeting other parts of Pennsylvania, as well as Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina and South Carolina for expansion.

Including a franchise fee as low as $4,000 ($1,000 per 25,000 people in a designated territory with a minimum of 100,000 population), the total investment to own and operate a G.I. HAUL franchise can be as low as $55,000. Financing options are available.
