SailTime Awards New Base in Northeast Wisconsin

Fractional Boat Membership Leader Excited to Launch a New Base Serving Door County, Wisconsin

October 25, 2019 // Franchising.com // SailTime Group LLC, the world’s leading fractional boat membership franchise, recently announced the awarding of a new territory in Door County, Wisconsin. The new base will be operated by Northeast Wisconsin native Bill Wons and operated out of Wave Point Marina in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

“Bill is exactly what we look for in a franchisee. He’s passionate about sailing and excited to share his passion with the people in his community,” SailTime CEO Todd Hess said. “We are very excited to launch SailTime Door County with Bill in the captain’s chair.”

Wons, 50, grew up in the Green Bay area and has been a boater and fisherman his entire life. He was introduced to sailing about 10 years ago on a trip to the Caribbean and has been enjoying it ever since. Having been a private investigator for the first three decades of his professional life, Bill decided the time was right for a new chapter on the water.

“Door County is an amazing place to sail. It’s a good community of sailors who are really going to enjoy the SailTime model,” Wons said. “I’m excited to launch SailTime Door County this spring on a new model 2018 Beneteau Oceanis.”

With a fee that starts at only a few hundred dollars a month, SailTime members can conveniently schedule blocks of time online to enjoy a new model sail or powerboat without the commitment or expense of ownership. When finished, they turn the keys over to the SailTime team to clean up and maintain the boat.

Boat owners can make money by placing their sail or powerboat in the SailTime program, allowing franchisees to sell blocks of time on their vessel.

SailTime also has a significant network of sailing schools, via bases that are certified American Sailing Association (ASA) and Royal Yachting Association (RYA) affiliates.
