The Lost Cajun Named One of “The Top 50 Emerging Restaurant Chains”

November 01, 2019 // Franchising.com // COVINGTON, La. - Having grown to 24 restaurants in six states over the past several years, it should come as no surprise that The Lost Cajun continues to receive industry recognition for its performance and potential.

The family-friendly restaurant concept with a focus on authentic Cajun food served with traditional Southern hospitality was recently named one of “The Top 50 Emerging Restaurant Chains,” according to FSR magazine.

This marks the second consecutive year that The Lost Cajun has been recognized by the restaurant trade magazine as a high-potential, performance-proven full-service brand – each with fewer than 50 locations – “to keep on your radar.”

“It’s an honor to be named one of FSR’s Top 50 Emerging Restaurants for the second year in a row,” said Raymond Griffin, founder, and CEO of The Lost Cajun. “It reinforces our commitment to bringing authentic Cajun cuisine and true Southern hospitality to every part of the country. Looking back, 2019 was a banner year for us. After starting the year ranked in Entrepreneur’s Annual Franchise 500 and being named one of FSR’s Top 50 Emerging Restaurants for the second year in a row, our team is inspired.”

The Lost Cajun’s menu offers diners a sampling of traditional Cajun fare, including a variety of gumbos and Cajun classics – seafood and chicken and sausage. Red beans and rice, crawfish etouffee, lobster bisque and a variety of fried seafood and sautéed items also top the menu, as does another Cajun staple, jambalaya. And what Cajun restaurant would be complete without beignets for dessert?

The Lost Cajun further distinguishes itself with a fantastic down-home atmosphere – a true hole-in-the-wall with wooden tables, unique decorations, and an expertly crafted playlist of Zydeco music. The open kitchen concept harks back to the wooden counters in Louisiana’s gumbo houses; patrons can watch their food cook and hear the courtesy and respect commonly associated with Cajun culture.

Founded in 2010 and franchising since 2013, The Lost Cajun currently has 24 restaurants operating in six states, at least seven of which have opened in the last 12 months alone. In addition, the Louisiana-based franchise has 10 additional locations in various stages of development in additional states of Mississippi, Florida, and California along with interest in other parts of the country.
