The Zappka Mobile Application In New York At NRF 2020 – The Largest Technology Fair

January 15, 2020 // Franchising.com // On January 13, 2020, Zabka - the largest convenience chain in Europe - together with its technology partner, Synerise, presented the zappka customer app in New York during the largest technology fair, NRF 2020. Zappka was presented as part of the Microsoft Reactor Innovation & ROI Hack Event and was the only Polish touch in a small group of projects from around the world.

  • The appreciation of the zappka application, with already over 2.5 million users, at the largest technology fair in New York is the success of the team of experts working at our company. I can proudly say today that Zabka is attracting professionals in the field of new technologies, data science, and modern design, who, using the support of global and local technology partners, create one-of-a-kind solutions, unique on a global scale. Over 10% of our employees are involved in the digital projects implemented in our company. Zabka is undergoing a digital transformation involving an entire ecosystem of technological solutions in the areas of store management, product range, BIG DATA, artificial intelligence, as well as mobile applications. The zappka application is a key new channel of communication and interaction with customers, and a dedicated interdisciplinary team of specialists is working on its development.

Zabka Polska participates in pro-educational projects, supporting and implementing numerous initiatives at the interface of science and business in cooperation with schools and universities. The company is involved in, among others, the AI Schools & Academy, where, together with other partners, it finances the teaching of the secrets of artificial intelligence in 1,500 kindergartens and public schools. Last year it also launched the “Ogarnij Big Data z Zabka” (“Get a grasp on Big Data with Zabka”) competition, during which students could present projects utilizing Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning methods and win a trip to Silicon Valley.

Microsoft Reactor Innovation & ROI Hack Event is an event that aims to show the key role of new cloud-based business models and ways to achieve quick return on investment in digital transformation in retail.

NRF is an annual gathering of retail industry leaders organized in New York. In 2019 the event was attended by 38,000 participants, including 800 exhibitors from nearly 100 countries around the world. The speakers include the most important figures in the retail and technology world, including Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella.
