Dale Carnegie Earns Notable Spot On Entrepreneur Magazine’s 41st Annual Franchise 500® List

Workplace Training and Development Franchise Ranks #2 in Training Programs

January 24, 2020 // Franchising.com // MELVILLE, N.Y. - Dale Carnegie announced today that it has been named to Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500® list, considered the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking. Rated a top “Training Program” in the “Business Services” category, Dale Carnegie achieved a ranking of #303 overall.

The recognition received by Dale Carnegie highlights the brand’s strategic refresh of its franchise system and owner network in 2019, bringing its total to nearly 230 territories in 82 different countries.

“It’s quite the honor to be recognized by Entrepreneur with this prestigious ranking,” said said Jean-Louis Van Doorne, Chief Franchise Advocate at Dale Carnegie Training. "As our team explores new opportunities in existing territories, creates relationships and supports existing territory owners, Dale Carnegie Training will be able to serve more professionals in their communities. This new year brings a lot of promise and we are excited to continue to push our momentum forward into the new decade.”

The key factors that go into the evaluation include costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability. Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order.

“The 500 companies on this list all have something in common: They understand what consumers want now,” says Jason Feifer, editor in chief of Entrepreneur. “They may be an upstart in a brand-new category, or they may be a brand like Dunkin’ that’s ranked highly on our list for decades. But either way, making our list means they’re forward-thinking, nimble, and closely in touch with their customers’ needs - because in an ever-changing business environment, that’s what a franchise must do to thrive.”

Through a diverse training curriculum offered in-person or online, Dale Carnegie Training continues to adapt to the ever-changing needs and challenges of the modern business world. Though the form of the delivery may evolve, the timeless insight and guidance brought to Dale Carnegie customers every day is still rooted in the continuity of core human motivations. Individuals and organizations return to Dale Carnegie Training because its impact is long lasting. Franchise partners can leverage curriculum and training tools that target successful behavioral and emotional connections that result in lasting transformation. Dale Carnegie believes the power to change corporations and communities lies in impacting people on a personal level.

Entrepreneurially spirited individuals interested in owning a Dale Carnegie franchise should have a minimum net worth of $500,000 and at least $150,000 in liquid capital, depending on the size and location of the territory. The start-up cost to open a Dale Carnegie business varies depending on the individual revenue targets of a territory, but it on average costs 20 percent lower than the investment for other businesses in the industry.

Over its 41 years in existence, the Franchise 500® has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for potential franchisees. Dale Carnegie’s position on the ranking is a testament to its strength as a franchise opportunity.
