Abrakadoodle Announces Expansion with Two New Units Opening in Connecticut

Award-winning mobile art education and creativity programming poised for continued growth

February 04, 2020 // Franchising.com // Sterling, VA - Abrakadoodle Remarkable Art Education has grown to include two new locations in Connecticut, adding to its presence in the Northeast region that since November expanded to include new units in Westchester, New York and Central Morris County, New Jersey. Abrakadoodle is a home-based, mobile art education concept that has won numerous awards for providing creative, high quality art education classes, camps, parties, in-school field trips, workshops and more delivered at schools and community sites. Abrakadoodle is a global art education franchise with locations in China, Singapore, Australia and throughout the U.S.

With a Master’s Degree in Education from Queens College, Camille Chistoni has worked in various capacities in Special Education, teaching K-1 elementary students. She has most recently been a Paraprofessional for Trumbull Public Schools. Earlier in her career, Camille made use of her Bachelor’s degree in Hotels & Restaurant Management, holding various positions in the hospitality industry. The daughter of an entrepreneurially-minded optician father, Camille managed her dad’s retail optical business. Camille is married to Walter Chistoni, who is a partner in their Abrakadoodle Trumbull business. Walter earned his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University, where he majored in Marketing and Business Management. His career has featured positions for media agencies, where he has managed sales and marketing for traditional print and digital properties. The couple reside in Trumbull and have two children. “The integrity of Abrakadoodle’s management and staff impressed me from the beginning,” commented Camille. “With my educational experiences and shared beliefs in a child-centered, active discovery approach to teaching art, I look forward to working with schools and community sites to bring outstanding creative art programming.”

Brian Ballou holds a BA in Communications and Political Science from the University of New Hampshire, and he is on track to graduate with an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University this June. Since 2002, Brian has grown in positions of responsibility in the insurance industry and most recently was regional vice president. “I was looking for a new experience via business ownership in a creative concept that closely aligns with my beliefs and values and Abrakadoodle was a great fit,” said Brian. The arts have been an important part of Brian’s life since he began taking part in community theater productions at the age of 13. His partner Kevin Cox is a figurative artist, specializing in oils on canvas. Kevin attended The University of Memphis where he studied art. “I think Abrakadoodle is a wonderful program and a great opportunity for us,” commented Kevin. “Art is so important for kids, and I am excited about the chance to bring a robust art program to benefit children in schools and community sites.”
