DQ Grill & Chill® Restaurant Coming to London
Seasoned Restaurateur Announces New Site for Madison County
February 06, 2020 // Franchising.com // LONDON, Oh. - London is in for a treat.
American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ), the legacy brand beloved for its mouthwatering meals and tasty treats, recently announced plans to bring a DQ Grill & Chill® restaurant to London. Set to open in March, the restaurant will be located at 365 Lafayette Street.
Internationally recognized as the most fun-filled, fan-filled QSR brand to work at, eat at and treat at, the DQ Grill & Chill® flagship concept modernizes guests’ dining experience. Beyond soft-serve favorites such as the legendary variety of Blizzard treats, at DQ Grill & Chill® restaurants, DQ® fans can also enjoy made-to-order lunch and dinner options including GrillBurgers™, Chicken Strip Baskets and delicious hot sandwiches, salads, Fries, Onion Rings and Cheese Curds!
The forthcoming DQ Grill & Chill® location features a modern, open-air grill, separate “Grill” and “Chill” sections, comfortable booths, large wooden tables, warm lighting and upbeat music. Additionally, a covered outdoor patio with ample seating will be available for London fans to enjoy! Over 1.3 million dollars will be invested, and the DQ Grill & Chill® plans to employ over 40 full and part time employees. The location will be locally owned and operated by Keith Chambers, along with London natives, Chad and Brian Wheeler. The restaurant trio has a combined experience of 120 years in the restaurant industry as operators.
“The DQ® brand is constantly creating new opportunities for its local communities with job creation and next-level customer service,” said Chambers. “I was drawn to the brand’s motto ‘because happy tastes good’ and strive to create an environment for community members to interact and enjoy DQ® favorites. We are looking forward to bringing another DQ Grill & Chill® restaurant to the London community and expanding our Ohio organization for our Team.”
Chambers has been with the Dairy Queen® brand for over four years, along with the Wheelers opening seven locations throughout central and southern Ohio. Chambers teamed up with London natives and experienced restauranteurs Chad and Brian to launch a yet another new DQ restaurant in Madison County.
What began as the 10-cent sale of an unknown frozen treat in 1938 quickly boomed into one of the most well-known companies of all time. Maintaining its recipe for success throughout nearly 80 years, the Dairy Queen® system has more than 7,000 locations worldwide and implementing its plan to add more than 70 new restaurants in the United States for 2019.
The brand is targeting 10 growth markets including: Sacramento, California; Baltimore; Orlando, Florida; Milwaukee; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Memphis, Tennessee; Albany, New York; Fresno, California; Charlotte, North Carolina; and New Orleans.
