Tierra Encantada Starts 2020 with Flood of Deal Signings

Spanish immersion daycare starts New Year by signing five deals totaling eight centers

February 25, 2020 // Franchising.com // Minneapolis, Minn. - Less than two months into the New Year, Tierra Encantada is further anchoring itself as the leader in Spanish immersion early education, having signed five development deals totaling eight centers across four states.

“Our rapid expansion is a reflection of our aggressive growth strategy, which is reinforced by the immense success Tierra Encantada has experienced over the past several years,” said CEO and founder Kristen Denzer. “Not only is our curriculum the best in the language immersion early education industry, our franchising model appeals to a wide variety of highly qualified prospects which allows for us to grow quickly and sustainably.”

The five agreements were signed with partners from various backgrounds, including industries like real estate development, financial services, and education.

Mariela Pineda and Natalia Pretelt are committed to expanding Tierra Encantada’s existing presence in Minneapolis. They are slated to open one center in the metro area’s western suburbs later this year in October.

Karin Morgan, a school social worker, has signed a deal for four centers throughout the Chicago metropolitan area, the first of which is slated to open in December.

Jill and Kevin Rempert, owners of a trampoline entertainment park, have committed to opening one location in the Chicago market. Though a lease has yet to be signed, they expect to open their first center in early 2021 and are eyeing sites in Wicker Park and West Town.

Mafe Pargada and Antonio Velazco have signed a deal for one center in the Houston marketplace. Though a lease has yet to be signed, the duo expects to open their center in early 2021 and is currently scouting potential sites in Eldridge, Briar Forest, Energy Corridor, Memorial, and Greater Katy.

Mustafa Durrani, who owns a real estate development firm, signed a deal to open a location in Arlington, Virginia in early 2021.

“These five franchisee groups will provide us with the opportunity to enter new markets and provide children with a wholesome language immersion experience, as well as grow the Tierra Encantada brand,” said Denzer. “We are ecstatic to welcome all of these franchisees to the Tierra Encantada family and we are confident that their passion for providing quality language immersion education to children will help them have an impact on their local communities.”

Founded in 2013 and franchising since 2019, Tierra Encantada’s early education programs offer care to children between the ages of six-weeks-old and six-years-old. These programs involve the use of an immersive curriculum that exposes children to the Spanish language through teaching, song and conversation. Tierra Encantada also provides children with delicious organic food options that help showcase different cultures’ cuisines. The combination of Spanish immersion and cultural experience provides children with a well-rounded learning experience; and the use of cloth diapers, LED lights, and solar panels puts an emphasis on environmental care.

The rapid expansion comes merely nine months after the Minneapolis-based franchise launched its franchise opportunity and announced plans to expand its national footprint. Today, there are four centers open and operating in Minnesota, and company plans call for having additional centers under development in all 50 states within five years.
