Blink Fitness Powers into New Decade with Focused Franchise Growth Strategy in Eight U.S. Markets

Premium-Quality, Affordable Fitness Brand Drives Multi-Unit Franchise Growth

February 27, 2020 // // NEW YORK - Following an impressive 2019, Blink Fitness (Blink), the affordable, premium-quality fitness concept, is poised for continued multi-unit franchise growth this year.

Blink Fitness has identified eight top-tier U.S. markets as prime opportunities for multi-unit franchise development. After conducting extensive market research, Blink Fitness has selected strategic growth markets including Dallas-Fort Worth; Denver; Phoenix; St. Louis; Kansas City; Las Vegas; Charlotte, North Carolina; and the state of Connecticut. The markets have been chosen based on several attributes, including real estate availability, favorable business climate, attractive competitive landscape and a suitable consumer audience. As it targets each market, Blink Fitness is seeking experienced multi-unit franchise groups looking to expand their portfolios into the booming affordable fitness segment.

Blink’s franchise growth announcement follows a breakthrough year for the brand. In 2019, Blink grew its franchise footprint by 50% and surged past the 100-unit benchmark as it celebrated more than 20 gym openings.

This year stands to be equally monumental: Blink Fitness predicts at least 30 franchise and company gym openings in 2020. The brand launched into the new decade with openings in January across major markets like Houston; Los Angeles; Chicago; and Jacksonville, Florida. Additional franchise and company openings are planned throughout the year in Illinois, Michigan, California, Texas, Florida and New York.

“Our members have spoken: our technology-forward, premium fitness model is disrupting the affordable fitness space today,” said Director of Franchise Development Patti Rother. “Member enthusiasm for Blink Fitness, coupled with our operationally simple and labor light model, has multi-unit groups perking up. We’re excited about growing in target markets this year – our expert team has done the legwork and these regions present strategic opportunities for franchise development.”

In addition to a labor light and technology-enabled model, Blink Fitness franchisees benefit from hands-on operational know-how from the brand’s nearly 100 company-owned locations open today. Additionally, the scale of the concept’s company-owned footprint allows it to pilot initiatives in various markets, rolling out only proven processes to franchisees. Franchisees also gain insights from Blink’s experienced senior leadership team, which includes executives from blue chip brands in retail and hospitality.

Founded by the world leader in the luxury fitness category, Blink Fitness has differentiated itself in the booming health and wellness segment by offering its gym members a high-quality, affordable and inclusive workout experience where how you feel is more important than how you look. Since opening its first gym in Manhattan in 2011, Blink Fitness has entered nearly a dozen major metropolitan markets coast to coast through sustained franchise and company-owned growth.

As Blink Fitness continues to focus on franchise expansion in prime markets nationwide, the brand is awarding franchise development opportunities to experienced multi-unit groups focusing on diversifying their portfolio with a proven concept well-positioned for growth.
