DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen Hosts Blood Drive In Vernon Hills

April 14, 2020 // Franchising.com // To help ease the nation’s shortage during the current COVID-19 crisis, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen of Northeast Chicagoland is partnering with SportClips Haircuts- Libertyville to sponsor a special Red Cross blood drive, April 21, from 9-3 pm. The drive will take place at DreamMaker’s headquarters, 1000 Butterfield Road, Vernon Hills.

“Donating blood is safe, and people shouldn’t hesitate to donate blood, platelets, or plasma,” says Mike Aukerman, DreamMaker CEO. “There is no evidence that coronavirus or any respiratory virus can be transmitted through a blood donation or transfusion, and there have been no cases reported anywhere in the world of transmission of the virus through a blood donation or transfusion.” Donating just one pint of blood can help save a neighbor’s life.

“Many organizations that had planned on hosting a Blood Drive are cancelling,” said Aukerman. “We’re not. Red Cross Blood Drives qualify as an “essential service.” With the Blood Drive still over two weeks away, all 44 available donation slots have been filled! However, with Blood Drives, there are often “no-shows”, so if someone would like to donate, walk-ins are welcome.

Auckerman had purchased 1,000 Hand Sanitizers shortly before they became scarce, so everyone attending will receive a free Hand Sanitizer, he said. Those who come to donate will also receive a free haircut coupon from SportClips.

“We are pleased to participate in such an impactful event, noted Aukerman. “We feel it is our responsibility to help in any way we can during these unprecedented times.”
