Gyroville Plans Grand Opening in Coral Springs, Florida on May 5th

Cinco de Gyro will feature free gyros to all first responders

May 01, 2020 // Franchising.com // Coral Springs, FL. - The newest franchisees for Gyroville, Maria & Irving Rodriguez, are a pair of former NYPD Officers that have been preparing to open their location in Coral Springs, Florida since the beginning of the year. Within days of receiving their Certificate of Occupancy, Broward County issued a stay at home order. This immediately changed their plans and forced them to put the Grand Opening on hold.

As the weeks have quickly passed, Irving Rodriguez has seen the struggles his community has faced. With his close ties to the community, and especially first responders, Irving decided “it’s time for us to open so we can start contributing to our community and help those who are risking their own lives saving others. We will be offering all first responders a Free Gyro to celebrate Cinco de Gyro on Tuesday, May 5th.” As former first responders during 9/11, Maria & Irving know firsthand the struggles that responders and the community are faced with during a crisis. They are opening on May 5, 2020 for takeout and delivery through Uber Eats only.

Maria and Irving are confident that they can safely serve their community. Since they will be opening a new location that was built from the ground up, all the equipment is brand new. Maria believes “this will give our customers a sense of security. We will thoroughly sanitize our restaurant prior to opening and continue to adhere to all local requirements, including wearing gloves and facemasks.” They are already prepared to operate in the new environment of contactless pickup and payment.

“We are fully supportive of the decision to open their new location during these difficult times,” said Lambros Kokkinelis, founder and CEO of Gyroville. “With the support of the local community and media, Maria & Irving will offer local residents a welcome change from the typical meal.”

The restaurant is located at 1750 North University Drive in Coral Springs, Florida. The store will be opening for lunch from 11:30AM-3PM & Dinner from 5PM-8PM. It will be closed on Sundays & Mondays.

Gyroville corporate has also waived all royalty payments during these unusual times. “We feel it is important to support our franchisees by waiving all royalty payments until further notice. This will give them a better opportunity to be successful and focus on their community. We will continue to be hands on and offer our full support of all operations” said Mr. Kokkinelis.

About Gyroville

Founded in 2010 and franchising since 2016, Gyroville was created from the need to fulfill the lack of Mediterranean cuisine in the fast casual market. The Greek-inspired concept allows customers to select from their choice of protein off the grill or carved from a vertical spit and an array of fresh vegetables and homemade sauces served in a pita, over rice or as a salad. Today, there are 10 locations open and operating in the Unites States.
