Larosa’s Team Member Relief Fund: Nearly $ 500,000 Raised With Less Than One Week Remaining
Program Benefits Nearly 4,000 Team Members and Their Families In 65 Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana Pizzerias
May 27, 2020 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI, OHIO - The LaRosa Family and LaRosa’s Family Pizzerias launched the LaRosa’s Team Member Relief Fund with $100,000 in early April, designed to directly support LaRosa’s Family Pizzeria’s nearly 4,000 pizzeria team members and their families, until LaRosa’s dining rooms reopened after state-mandated closures. Over the last seven and a half weeks, the fund has grown to $ 488,020 through Buddy Card sales and cash donations from LaRosa’s guests; as well as a dollar-for-dollar match by The LaRosa Family. Many LaRosa’s dining rooms reopened with new safety protocols in place on May 26, and most of the remainder will be open again by Monday, June 8.
The Buddy Card sales that help feed The LaRosa’s Team Member Relief Fund will continue through closing on Sunday, May 31. “Our team members still need our support and our Guests have shown how much they care by donating funds and buying Buddy Cards”, said Michael LaRosa, CEO, LaRosa’s, Inc. 100% of the proceeds from LaRosa’s $10 Buddy Card sales go directly to the Team Member Relief Fund.
The Buddy Card features 14 ‘buy-one large pizza and get a large cheese pizza free’ offers for pick up and dine in and is valid for a year. Guests and the community-at-large can buy Buddy Cards at LaRosa’s pizzerias in person. Or, Guests can add a Buddy Card to an order when using the LaRosa’s app. LaRosa’s will also bring a newly- purchased card along with a delivery order. Guests who would like to simply donate to the Team Member Relief Fund can donate directly through the app, by calling or online.
LaRosa’s has offered something to help guests make it through the lockdown, too. Now through May 31, 2020, when Guests use any active Buddy Card- newly purchased or one that is months old- just like they usually do, LaRosa’s will not deduct any offers from the Buddy Card.
LaRosa’s was founded in 1954 on Cincinnati’s West Side by Buddy LaRosa. It is now a $167 million restaurant company with 65 pizzerias serving neighborhoods in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
