Leading Fitness Franchise Navigates Through 2020 with Eyes Set on Opening an Additional 13 New Locations by Year-End
July 16, 2020 // Franchising.com // NASHVILLE - D1 Training – a leading fitness concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals – has announced a strategic focus on franchise development as the brand continues to innovate and adapt to prevail in the post-pandemic era. Coming off of a successful 2019, where the brand signed 66 franchise agreements, increased year-over-year sales by 20 percent, and trained over 100,000 scholastic athletes, 2020 is on the path of upward success despite COVID-19 as the franchise plans to open 13 new facilities by year-end with an additional 100+ in various stages of development.
Notably, D1 Training recently awarded three multi-unit agreements as it continues to expand across the nation. Franchisee Randy Colley will bring four locations to Colorado debuting in Cherry Hills, Littleton, Lone Tree, and Aurora while franchisee Jason Carmichael is set to debut two locations in the North Denver area. The growing franchise is seeking qualified, community-minded franchisees with a passion for the fitness industry to continue its growth through single and multi-unit franchise agreements.
“Our incredible network of franchise partners, coaches, and corporate franchise team have served as a guiding light for our brand as we navigated through the ever-changing landscape of the pandemic and the impact it has had on fitness industry,” said Dan Murphy, Chief Operating Officer of D1 Training. “Our strength, resiliency, and ability to innovate and adapt has allowed us to remain steadfast and focused on our growth. There was no ‘off-season’ – rather, it was an opportunity to reevaluate and improve our development strategy. We’re committed to emerging stronger than ever before as we push forward with new openings and signed agreements in this post-COVID era.”
D1 Training’s internal theme for the year, “Believe,” remains at the forefront, which is fitting to the challenges that the pandemic has placed on the fitness industry as a whole. The brand prides itself on its forward-thinking innovation to meet the needs of the consumer and support its franchisees with business operations. Amid the pandemic, it accelerated the launch of its D1toU online, virtual training app and remote program in partnership with TrainHeroic, which now services over 24,360 members. As its facilities begin to safely reopen across the nation, its newly secured vendor partnerships with Sorinex Equipment, Plae and Zybek are providing the brand with a unique competitive advantage.
Whether it be in the gym or through the app, D1 Training continues its determination to cultivate an overall brand experience relying on the genuine, trusting and positive relationships with its members. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or their fitness goals, regardless of age or athletic background.
All locations offer five age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18), Boot Camp (adults), and Strength Training (adults).
