DQ Grill & Chill® Brings Tasty Eats and Sweet Treats to Streetsboro
Multi-Unit Operators and Entrepreneurial Couple Brings World-Leading QSR Concept to Portage County
July 17, 2020 // Franchising.com // STREETSBORO, Ohio - Streetsboro will once again get a taste of American Dairy Queen Corporation’s (ADQ) timeless DQ® brand cherished for its delectable fare and classic frozen treats.
Locally owned and operated by husband and wife duo Randy and Natalie Monahan, a new DQ Grill & Chill® will open Tuesday, July 21. Located at 9391 St. Rt. 14, the location features a modern, open-air grill and separate “Grill” and “Chill” sections for the community to enjoy. While following the state’s safety guidelines, the location will serve through drive-thru, take out, outdoor patio dining as well as indoor dining. The dining room will have reduced seating to accommodate CDC guidelines for social distancing.
Striking the perfect balance between yesterday and today, the DQ Grill & Chill® flagship concept modernizes guests’ dining experience by offering made-to-order lunch and dinner options, including GrillBurgers™, Chicken Strip Baskets and delicious hot sandwiches. DQ® fans can also enjoy soft-serve favorites such as cones, sundaes and the signature Blizzard® Treat.
“Like most, I grew up with a love of ice cream and the Dairy Queen® brand has given me so many wonderful memories,” said Randy Monahan. “When I would coach my daughter’s sports team, we would always end up at a DQ® after games and practices. Whether her team won or lost, it was something we could look forward to doing together as a family. Natalie and I hope the Streetsboro community will create cherished memories with their families in our DQ Grill & Chill® location as well.”
Randy and Natalie have been Dairy Queen® franchisees since 2016 and have built a dedicated fanbase at their DQ Grill & Chill® in Brunswick, Ohio. Dairy Queen® is a family affair for the Monahan’s with their daughters, in-laws and brother-in-law all playing a role in the continued success of the Brunswick location and now the upcoming Streetsboro location.
What began as the 10-cent sale of an unknown frozen treat in 1938 quickly boomed into one of the most well-known companies of all time. Maintaining its recipe for success for 80 years, the Dairy Queen® system has more than 7,000 locations worldwide.
The new DQ Grill & Chill® includes about 60 staff members, ranging from crew members to managers. The drive-thru will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
