Sasquatch Strength Flexing Its Way to Orlando
Seattle-based fitness concept to open its first gym outside of Seattle in The City Beautiful
September 15, 2020 // Franchising.com // SEATTLE - Sasquatch Strength - an education-based fitness concept dedicated to teaching its members about long term training and creating a community for those looking to improve their health - is officially headed to Orlando, having recently signed a franchise agreement for one area gym.
The new gym will be owned and operated by Florida natives Dave and Kim Robinson, who recently became empty nesters and decided to start a new business adventure for the second half of their lives. Though a lease has not been signed, the Robinsons are specifically targeting Windermere, Winter Garden and Ocoee for potential location sites.
“Sasquatch Strength is not interested in simply putting members through a workout and sending them on their way, but specializes in teaching members how to take responsibility for their own fitness,” said Kim. “Sasquatch Strength is a journey from illness to wellness; from insecurity to confidence; from barely being able to stand up, to lifting your grandkids up when they want to be held. We create fitness for life. We want our members to live longer, and live better.”
Dave added, “The fitness industry may be growing, but you never see concepts out there that are focused on purpose-based programming. Sasquatch Strength is not a limited or trendy fitness class that only focuses on one type of work out; Sasquatch is committed to the long-term benefits that its members are looking to achieve. Dave and I look forward to bettering the lives of individuals across the area.”
Founded in 2014 and franchising since 2018, Sasquatch Strength focuses on educating members for life, rather than giving them a workout and sending them home. As a truly functional program, the difficulty level of the daily workouts is designed to be increased or decreased, depending upon the individual. This makes them doable by anyone.
Daily workouts can include: core conditioning, rowing, sprinting, gymnastics, lifting, etc. And all the workouts are designed to improve overall flexibility, strength, speed, endurance, and agility.
With limited class sizes, trainers can offer individual attention to members to structure their experience around the member’s personal needs.
The local expansion announcement comes on the heels of the recent launch of Sasquatch’s franchise opportunity. Today, there are four gyms open and operating in the Seattle, Washington metro area. Over the next 12 months, Sasquatch expects to sell 14 units total and hit 100 units sold in the next three to five years. The brand is currently eyeing multi-unit, area development and master franchise opportunities in prime markets throughout North America.
