Spherion Ranks in Top 20 Percent of Entrepreneur Magazine’s 42nd Annual Franchise 500® List

Staffing and Recruiting Franchise Secures Place in the Business Services Category on Esteemed Franchise List

February 08, 2021 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA - Spherion announced today it has been named to Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500® list. Rated number two in the “Staffing and Recruiting” category, Spherion also ranked in the top 20% of the list.

The recognition received by Spherion highlights the successful expansion made by the company in 2020. An addition of eight locations in the last year brings the brand’s total number of offices to more than 200 in communities across the United States.

“We’re honored to once again be recognized by Entrepreneur with this esteemed ranking,” said Rebecca Rogers Tijerino, President of Spherion Staffing. “Spherion is starting the year strong. Not only are we celebrating our 75th anniversary, we also launched a fresh, reimagined brand identity to meet the increasing needs of our client companies and the emergent workforce across the country. We’re looking forward to continued growth with new and existing owners in 2021.”

One of the pillars of Spherion’s notable entry into the new year was the reveal of its refreshed, striking new company identity. Driving this change is the company’s successful growth into new markets, aggressively expanding to meet the increasing needs of client companies and the emergent workforce across the country. The branding overhaul is complete with a reimagined logo featuring interlocking waypoint-shaped icons – a representation of the company’s deep roots in the local communities it serves. The company revealed this dynamic new look as both a nod to the future and a tribute to its 75th anniversary this year, for which it is planning an early-spring multi-layered national promotion.

The key factors that go into the evaluation include costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability. Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order.

“2020 was a challenging year for everyone, but it was also a year of unusual opportunity,” says Jason Feifer, Entrepreneur editor-in-chief. “Franchises were able to be nimble and innovative, serving the needs of franchisees and customers in ways that will resonate for many years to come. We believe that, when we eventually look back on this time, we’ll see it as a moment when many brands defined themselves for the future.”

In the first quarter of 2021 alone, Spherion will begin serving four new U.S. regions for the company. It has recently increased the markets targeted for growth to more than 100 open territories. Likewise, the company has advanced its corporate expertise to more effectively provide each Spherion owner with the tools they need to best support local communities with recruitment, business development, public relations and marketing resources. New workflows and technologies are being adopted to enhance the overall job searching process, which also benefits its client base.
