Family Run Kumon Center Opens Second Location in New Jersey
Recent Increases in Learning Loss Demand More Resources for Students
April 02, 2021 // Franchising.com // Morristown, NJ - Three years ago, Kit Yuen, left Wall Street to pursue his passion for education, opening the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Madison. It quickly became a family business, with his wife, son and daughter all contributing to the center’s success. With 45 fivestar reviews on Google, the family is excited to bring their same expertise in the Kumon Method to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Morristown.
With the recent increase in learning loss, Kumon of Morristown will help parents feel confident about their kids’ academic advancement.
“We always believe in giving back to society,” said Kit. “I hope that we will be able to help the children of Madison, Morristown and the surrounding areas continue to be strong in math and reading.”
Kumon is not tutoring. It’s an academic enrichment program that aims to unlock kids’ full potential by increasing independence, confidence, and study skills. Through the Kumon Method’s daily worksheet study, students enrolled in Kumon often end up mastering material far beyond what is expected for their age or grade.
7-year-old Sophia recently wrote “I joined Kumon in Madison, NJ, when I was 5. I felt very welcomed by all the teachers, Ms. Wai, Mr. Kit, everyone! I felt really independent. I started with counting apples, moved on to additions, subtractions, multiplications, divisions, long divisions, super long divisions, and here I am now beginning fractions!”
