East Dorset Care Company Celebrates First Year Success - By Opening A New Office

“We started our care business one year ago - we are proud to be helping our community and can’t wait to bring that award-winning care to Salisbury.”

April 28, 2021 // Franchising.com // Two friends who met working in care have just celebrated their first business anniversary - by opening a new office.

Friends Adam Downer, 34, and Sam Jones, 33, met while working in the care sector and started their own care franchise with Good Oaks Home Care on April 6th, last year, providing premium live-in and visiting care to the East Dorset area. Despite the challenges of the last year and having started their business right at the start of Covid Lockdown One, the East Dorset team have been so successful that they will now be opening a new office in Salisbury on 1st May 2021.

The new office based at Cross Keys House in the town, is currently recruiting and will be creating 25 new jobs in the local economy: bringing with it Good Oaks Home Care’s award-winning ethos of care and values of professionalism, respect, integrity, dedication and empathy. The team will also be Salisbury’s first carbon-neutral franchised care provider - Good Oaks works with company Carbon Footprint to measure and limit their carbon emissions and takes part in tree-planting initiatives both in the UK and the Amazon Rainforest to offset all emissions. In fact, they provide a net gain for the planet - making them good for the community and the planet.

Last week, the East Dorset team were finalists in the prestigious Home Care Awards category for Best New Franchise Start-Up, in recognition of their hard work and dedication through the Pandemic.

Co-founder Sam worked as a care manager at Good Oaks Home Care in Poole before deciding to partner with Adam and start their own Good Oaks franchise. Sam helps care for his mum who has dementia and Adam helped to care for his father following a brain haemorrhage - the experience started him on his journey to working in care and looking after others.

The friends, who both live in the Bournemouth area, said: “We are really proud of what we have achieved in the last year - helping to provide care and support for our community throughout Covid - one of the toughest times we have all been through. Working in care is hugely rewarding, we both met working in the sector and have looked aft

“Being there for our clients when they need us most makes us very proud and drives us to want to help more people- something we are delighted to be able to provide with the opening of the new Salisbury office.”
