Signs Franchise Agreement to “Bring Pretzels to the People” with New Location Planned for Otay Ranch Town Center

April 30, 2021 // Franchising.com // CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Wetzel’s Pretzels (Wetzel’s), the fun-loving brand putting a tasty twist on snacking, announced today that it has recently signed a franchise agreement to roll out hand held happiness in Chula Vista. The new bakery is scheduled to open in June at the Otay Ranch Town Center.

Radiating its signature Southern California vibe, Wetzel’s was founded in Redondo Beach, California 25 years ago and has grown to command a cult-like following in the communities it serves. The brand inspires a fanatical following with its colorful presence, “gram-worthy” snacks and the small moments of pure pretzel bliss that it produces with friends, family and colleagues.

“Having been an owner for over nine years now, I can honestly say that it has been a blessing to work with a franchisor that cares immensely about their product,” said Kara Felberg, who has inked the agreement with Wetzel’s Pretzels in Chula Vista with her husband, Chad. “Not only does Wetzel’s provide a treat loved by all, but also a taste of success. As a franchisee, I feel motivated each day to succeed in all areas of operation and am excited to open a second location. A new location means more availability to take part in giveback initiatives and provide jobs for the community as well.”

As an existing Wetzel’s franchise owner, Kara is eager to begin serving a new community of pretzel lovers. Additionally, Kara is a strong advocate for women in business and giving back to the community. She holds a lot of pride in being a female business owner and hopes to inspire other female entrepreneurs to carry out their passions. Her team regularly donates to school fundraisers, theater groups and other non-profit organizations.

The new location in Chula Vista will be located at 2015 Birch Rd within the Otay Ranch Town Center. Building on the West Coast popularity, the new Wetzel’s location will be an inline location and is the second location for the Felbergs.
