Madison County Foodies Unite: Larosa’s Lantern Ridge Is Now Open!

Local Passion for LaRosa’s Tradition of Real Family Recipes Led to Decision to Establish New Pizzeria in City of Richmond

May 24, 2021 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI, OHIO - In 2019, LaRosa’s entered the Lexington market to much fanfare, and quickly realized the people of Central Kentucky wanted more, and earlier this year opened in Nicholasville. A Facebook Group with over 12,000 followers called Madison County Foodies made it clear that they wanted their very own LaRosa’s in Richmond - so LaRosa’s delivered! Today, LaRosa’s held a ribbon-cutting at its new pizzeria at 2216 Lantern Ridge Drive, next to First Watch and near the campus of Eastern Kentucky University, at State Route 876 and 1-75.

“We are beyond excited to get to know everyone in Richmond, a community that is clearly incredibly passionate about great food!”, said Gary Holland, One Holland Corporation, franchise owner of the Central Kentucky LaRosa’s, Skyline and First Watch. “Our timing couldn’t be better, as Kentucky lifts restrictions on mask-wearing, restaurant capacity and physical distancing - people are hungry for restaurant experiences like ours, again”, he said. To welcome the people of the City of Richmond, student body of Eastern Kentucky University and the Madison County Foodies, LaRosa’s Lantern Ridge gave away free pizza for a year to the first 50 guests, and a LaRosa’s-branded three-pizza warming bag filled with swag to the first 100 guests. And, in support of the Richmond community, and as a result of funds raised through its pre-opening friends-and-family event, LaRosa’s contributed $ 2,845.00 to God’s Outreach, Madison County Food Bank.

LaRosa’s Lantern Ridge’s 6,437 square foot restaurant includes dine-in, pick-up and delivery of its family-recipe pizzas and other Italian favorites with a 160-person capacity dining room. The restaurant also features an oversized patio, large parking lot, full-service bar and a “Buddy Room” for parties and events. And, there’s a convenient drive-up/pick-up window that makes meal time easy. Guests can order and pay using the LaRosa’s app at work, stop to get the meal at the drive-up pick-up window, then arrive home to serve a hot, tasty meal to the family.

LaRosa’s is famous for its family recipe pizza. Founder Buddy LaRosa used his Aunt Dena’s pizza recipe when starting his first pizzeria in 1954. Nearly 70 years later, they still use the same recipe. LaRosa’s also offers a full menu of over 40 selections including appetizers, calzones, hoagys, salads and pastas for dine in, pick up or delivery in the neighborhood.
