August 18, 2021 // Franchising.com // Raleigh, NC. - School of Rock, a performance-based music education, announces “Raleigh Rocks” to celebrate the opening of School of Rock Raleigh in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event will take place at 200 S Blount St., Raleigh, North Carolina, 27601, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. EST,  on Saturday, August 21. The event will offer live music by student bands, an instrument “petting zoo”, food, lawn games, prize giveaways and more. Raleigh Rocks will also be live-streamed on Facebook for those who can’t attend in-person.

School of Rock Raleigh is owned by Brad and Michelle Jenkins. As long supporters of music and art programs and Raleigh residents for over 25 years, they saw a gap in music opportunities for their children in the city. Being entrepreneurs and industry executives themselves, finding programs that develop children’s musical proficiency in combination with developing their confidence, teamwork, entrepreneurial and leadership skills was paramount. Brad and Michelle found that the School of Rock concept is ideally designed to help kids rock both on stage and in life.

“We are excited to provide kids the opportunity to grow into the leaders of tomorrow through music,” said Brad Jenkins. “Michelle and I believe that music and the arts are vital to child and community development, and we’re looking forward to bringing that to the rapidly growing Raleigh metro area.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol,The Voice and Broadway.

“Brad and Michelle have a strong appreciation for music education, and they are passionate about teaching students through rock n’ roll,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “I’m confident they will be excellent leaders for the School of Rock location in Raleigh.”
