School Of Rock Orangeburg Is Ready To Rock N’ Roll

The Orangeburg grand re-opening event includes a guitar smashing, open mic, house band performance, roadie Olympics and more!

September 28, 2021 // Franchising.com // Orangeburg, NY. - School of Rock, a performance-based music education, announces the grand opening of School of Rock Orangeburg in Orangeburg, New York. The event will take place at 135 E Erie St. Blauvelt, NY 10913, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT,  on Saturday, October 2nd. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), the event will offer an open mic, instrument demonstrations for all ages, a house band performance, roadie Olympics, and a raffle drawing.

School of Rock Orangeburg is owned by Don Seraita. Don dabbled in guitar since the age of nine, but it wasn't until the age of fourteen that he picked up his first electric guitar, strummed some chunky power chords in front of hundreds of people, and tasted the life of a rockstar. Don has been performing with various bands at venues such as The Knitting Factory, Sullivan Hall, Trash Bar, Paper Box, Don Hill's and The Bowery Electric since he was 17 years old.

For the past five years, Don was working in sales at various start-up companies in the digital advertising space. While he was adapting to life in corporate sales, the pandemic pulled him in a different direction; a direction where he could combine his natural skills as a salesperson, his undying love for music, and the rewarding feeling that comes along with teaching others how to play and perform music that inspires them. This led him to opening a School of Rock in his community.

“At School of Rock Orangeburg we believe that there is a lot more to us than music lessons. We enrich our students’ lives through performance-based music education,” said Don Seraita. “Through collaborative programs, our students play and work together, led by our expert instructors to make music and build lifelong relationships.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

“Don Seraita has a strong appreciation for music education, and he is passionate about teaching students through rock n’ roll,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “I’m confident he will be an excellent leader for the new School of Rock location in Orangeburg.”
