Dorset Care Business Celebrates Ten Years’ Strong Growth

October 21, 2021 // Franchising.com // DORSET - TEN years after the company’s launch, a Poole-based care business is establishing a national presence with 100 direct employees and a franchise operation spanning key English regions, supporting over 500 clients.

Begun in Poole on 21st October 2011, Good Oaks Home Care quickly became a beacon provider for live-in and visiting care across the Bournemouth and Poole conurbation.

From the outset the company’s founder directors, Ben Ashton and Darius Mitkus were determined to create a sustainable business that transformed the quality of life of its clients and recognised fully the contribution of its carers.

Ben Ashton explains: ‘It was never our intention to create just another care business. We wanted to shape a new model that put our carers and clients at the centre of everything - where we listened to their needs and shaped a business around them.’

In setting its objectives, the company puts satisfied clients, carers and a sustainable approach ahead of company profits, and as a result has won the respect of clients and their families and attracted dedicated business partners.

Good Oaks offers its carers industry-leading wages and works hard to give them opportunities to develop their career.

In recent years, the company has leveraged its business model, attracting committed, talented individuals to run franchise operations across the UK. Fourteen franchise offices have been set up to date across the country, in locations spanning from London to Derby and Reading to Worcester.

In coming months, Good Oaks is set to announce a number of new operations across the south west and central parts of the country.

The company, which has won nationwide industry awards for innovation and quality, is the UK’s only carbon-neutral franchise network, of any sector.

Darius Mitkus said: ‘It has been an extraordinary journey, we have learnt so much, and are on track to build a beacon national brand for the care sector.

‘We are so proud of our talented and dedicated carers and the contribution they make to communities across the country - they are the real heroes of Good Oaks’ first decade.

‘We will continue to live our values of pride, respect, integrity, dedication and empathy, ensuring they are reflected in all aspects of our operations.’
