Mountain Mike’s Pizza Named Among Top Pizza Chains In America

Leading Family-Style Pizza Franchise Climbs to No. 16 of Top 50 Chains Nationally

December 07, 2021 // Franchising.com // NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -  Mountain Mike’s Pizza, a family-style pizza chain for more than 40 years, known for its legendary crispy, curly pepperoni, Mountain-sized pizzas, toppings to the edge, and dough made fresh daily, has proudly been named to PMQ’s 2022 Pizza Power Report. Mountain Mike’s jumped up five spots from last year and moved into the top 20 among the top-50 national chains, currently sitting at #16 on the report based on 2020 annual sales. Among Quick Service pizza chains, the brand’s impressive spot on the top-50 list pushed even higher – to #12. Mountain Mike’s also placed high on the list of chains with the fastest per unit growth, landing at #11 on the annual report.

“Our 2022 Pizza Power Report ranking represents a huge accomplishment for everyone associated with Mountain Mike’s Pizza, especially after achieving quarter after quarter of record-setting gains across sales and unit growth,” said Jim Metevier, President & COO of Mountain Mike’s Pizza. “But what’s even more exciting is our outlook for what’s ahead, as we have eclipsed $250 million in sales this year. Since acquiring the legacy brand in 2017, we’ve had our sights set on being a top-10 chain, and now that goal is within our reach.”

Metevier continued, “We often talk about America’s love affair with pizza, which Mountain Mike’s has been fueling for more than four decades as a brand built on the pillars of family and community. We are thrilled to be recognized by PMQ as one of the country’s top pizza chains, and I know I speak for everyone involved in saying that we are extremely enthusiastic about the future of the Mountain Mike’s brand as we continue to climb the ranks alongside the best of the best in the pizza.”
