Community Welcomes SoBol - the Healthy Food Café with Super Cool Food

One of the Best Grand-Openings in Company History

December 22, 2021 // Franchising.com // Hewlett, New York - The Nassau County hamlet of Hewlett is home to the newest location of SoBol, located at 1309 Broadway on The South Shore. SoBol, famous for their fresh-made acai bowls and smoothie bars, is capturing a large following throughout the country as a healthy food franchise.

When the doors opened to this new location, hundreds from the community were lined up eager to enjoy the fresh ingredients in the acai bowls and smoothies including the brand’s homemade granola, otherwise known as SoBol’s special sauce. The steady stream of customers has continued thanks to the delicious food and friendly atmosphere.

Owners Amy and Russ Golan are grateful for their SoBol café being embraced by this community. Amy says it’s been an amazing experience saying, “Customers come up to us and say what a great product we have served up in such a warm environment on a daily basis. That’s what it’s all about. People coming together around great food.”

That food is what appealed to Amy and Russ in the first place. Being health-conscious, themselves, they knew partnering with SoBol was a good move because it allows their customers to enjoy a completely customizable menu. “If someone has a dietary concern, we can offer them a variety of options,” says Russ. “Plus we are proud to be vegan friendly and certified kosher. Our customers appreciate that.”

Amy and Russ know the significance of customer service, the couple ventured into this SoBol franchise with previous business experience having owned three gyms and a medical development and distribution business. The SoBol culture aligned perfectly with their lifestyle. Amy says, “We have four grown kids who were all athletes and my husband and I are runners and very active. We are so proud to bring these healthy food choices to our community. We raised our four kids on Long Island so it’s very meaningful to provide this healthy food option to families in Hewlett.”

Amy and Russ are very hands-on at the café. Anytime you drop in, you’ll see them there, eager to chat and see how you’re doing. Russ says that’s what makes the difference. “This is more of a community gathering place. It’s really a great feeling to see that people are coming together because of something you’ve built. This was such a good decision.”

“Russ and I felt very comfortable in business. I love the marketing side and he enjoys the operations. But what made such an impression was the support we received from the franchise itself. They assisted with permits and worked with the builder. They are very hands-on and helpful.”
