Metal Supermarkets Advances Nearly 100 Spots On Entrepreneur Magazines’ 43rd Annual Franchise 500® List

International Metal Supply Franchise Ranked #287 on Esteemed Franchise List

January 11, 2022 // Franchising.com // MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Metal Supermarkets announced today that it has once again been named to Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500® list, considered the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking. The brand moved up 94 spots from last year’s ranking.

The recognition received by Metal Supermarkets highlights their successful expansion in 2021. An addition of 12 stores last year brings the brand’s total locations to 109 in communities across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

“It’s an incredible honor to once again rise up the ranks in Franchise 500,” said Stephen Schober, the President and CEO of Metal Supermarkets. "We are excited to build upon this momentum in 2022 by continuing to grow in new markets, while creating lasting and profitable franchisee relationships and supporting the existing ones. 2021 was a phenomenal year for us, not only did we reach our all-time highest network sales, but we also launched a brand-new E-Commerce platform. We look forward to continued success in the coming year with additional store openings planned for the coming months and balance of the year.”

There are several key factors that go into the evaluation, including costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability. Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order.

“The past year has been one of the most challenging for businesses in recent memory, which made putting together our 43rd annual Franchise 500 list more enlightening than ever,” says Entrepreneur Editor in Chief Jason Feifer. “The companies named to this year’s list showed us how being resilient, supportive, and nimble can help navigate extraordinary challenges and also underscore the grit and innovation that define entrepreneurship.”

Over its 43 years in existence, the Franchise 500® has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for potential franchisees.

Results can also be seen in the January/February 2022 issue of Entrepreneur, available on newsstands January 11th.
