The Camp Transformation Center Celebrates First Location in New Mexico

Fitness Franchise Marks One Year of Transforming Lives in Albuquerque

January 27, 2022 // Franchising.com // ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Camp Transformation Center is celebrating the first anniversary of its inaugural location in New Mexico. Franchisee William Xatruch, who lost 73 pounds as a member in California before moving and opening his own Camp in Albuquerque, says it has been rewarding to introduce The Camp’s unmatched weight loss programs to locals in his new home state.

The pandemic prompted William’s decision to change professions and relocate his family. With ties to loved ones in New Mexico, Albuquerque was his first choice, but there was one problem. The Camp Transformation Center didn’t have a gym in New Mexico. A loyal brand ambassador and member since 2016, William took it upon himself to open a franchise.

“It’s no surprise to me that the members who have joined us in the past year are loving their results,” says William. “We are working on building more brand awareness, and fortunately, new members are bringing friends and family. Once people get in here, they see that The Camp is different. Whether you’re a fitness beginner or a professional athlete, this is a place where you can achieve your goals and feel supported.”

Home of the free “20-Pound Weight Loss Challenge,” The Camp Transformation Center’s flagship program consists of group training with dynamic interval workouts, nutrition and supplement plans, highly qualified trainers, and a ton of positive emotional support. The Camp is a community of people who treat fellow members like family.

William credits The Camp with more than weight loss. He and his wife, Cathy Xatruch, joined the franchise location in Rancho Cucamonga, California, in 2016. The husband and father eventually stopped taking blood pressure medication, and he says he receives an improved bill of health from his doctor with each visit.

“I did three of the 20-pound challenges and lost more than 20 pounds during each six-week period, and I’ve never looked back,” William says. “I ran the 26.2 miles in the Los Angeles Marathon. I was borderline diabetic but turned things around. I struggled with sleep apnea. Now I have no trouble sleeping. Eating clean and working out doesn’t just improve your appearance, it transforms you.”

Cofounded by Alejandra Font in 2010, The Camp Transformation Center was born out of the realization that despite universal knowledge of how to lose weight - eat healthier and work out regularly - millions of people still struggle to get results. During an era of skyrocketing obesity, The Camp created a proven system to help this massively underserved audience achieve their goals.

“The highest compliment for any franchise is having members or customers develop a level of brand loyalty that leads them to own a franchise,” says Alejandra Font, Co-Founder of The Camp Transformation Center. “We are proud to say William is one of several owners who started out as members. We are fortunate to have him working hard to introduce The Camp’s method and transform lives in a community where we didn’t previously have a presence.”
