Entrepreneur Magazine ranks Spherion among the best on its Annual Franchise 500® and 2021 Top Franchises for Less than $150,000 Lists

Staffing and Recruiting Franchise Secures Place on Esteemed Franchise Lists

February 08, 2022 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA - Spherion Staffing announced today that it has been named to Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500® list, considered the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking. Rated in the “staffing, recruitment and employment-related services” category, Spherion also ranked in the top 15% of the list. The brand also celebrated its ranking on the publication’s 2021 Top Franchises for Less than $150,000 ranking, coming in at #15 on the list.

The recognition received by Spherion highlights the successful expansion made by the company in 2021. Aside from welcoming 6 more offices to its community last year, Spherion also expanded its services to include professional staffing, which includes IT and finance positions.

“Wow — what an incredible honor to be recognized by Entrepreneur among some of the top franchise businesses,” said Rebecca Rogers Tijerino, President of Spherion Staffing. “Like the rest of the world, we had our fair share of challenges in 2021, but I’m incredibly proud to say that we also saw an immense amount of growth. Our entire network has put in the work to ensure that we continue to serve the communities we live and work in from coast to coast, and we look forward to expanding our presence with more hardworking, talented operators in the new year.”

2021 marked Spherion’s 75th anniversary as well as the launch of a massive rebranding, co-opting the phrase “Let’s get to work” to rally the nation around the same purpose-driven ideal. The staffing company also kicked off the year with its Spherion Let’s Get to Work National Job Fair, where its 200+ offices around the country participated to fill jobs of all sorts. Later in the year, Spherion hosted two massive programs that placed an immense focus on the success of job seekers and franchisees, the Spherion Works Sweepstakes and the Get More! Giveaway. Both campaigns served as an employee retention tool and helped job seekers find and stay at meaningful career opportunities. And, the brand wrapped up the year on a high note by welcoming 6 new offices into its franchise community.

There are several key factors that go into the Entrepreneur Franchise 500 ranking, including costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability. Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order. For the top Franchises for Less than $150,000 recognition, companies are ranked based on the scores they receive in Entrepreneur’s 2021 Franchise 500 ranking.

“The past year has been one of the most challenging for businesses in recent memory, which made putting together our 43rd annual Franchise 500 list more enlightening than ever,” says Entrepreneur Editor in Chief Jason Feifer. “The companies named to this year’s list showed us how being resilient, supportive, and nimble can help navigate extraordinary challenges and also underscore the grit and innovation that define entrepreneurship.”

Spherion brandishes the power of local through a network of independent and empowered franchisees. Each Spherion franchisee enriches their communities through connecting and facilitating employment opportunities every day — and when they’re successful together, their investments flow back into the neighborhoods where they live and work. The power of Spherion is in its local roots.

Over its 43 years in existence, the Franchise 500® has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for potential franchisees.
