Handyman Connection Celebrates Success Of Franchise Award Winners And Craftsman Brand Champions At Annual Conference

February 09, 2022 // Franchising.com // BLUE ASH, Ohio - Home repair and improvement company Handyman Connection held its annual franchise conference last month in Palm Springs, California, awarding multiple franchise owners for their business success in 2021 and recognizing 16 Craftsman Brand Champions from local offices across North America. The conference took place on the heels of the company’s best December performance in over a decade.

“It was an honor to gather with our franchisees and many of their best craftspeople to celebrate another exemplary year of sales and market growth for the Handyman Connection brand and their individual offices,” said Jeff Wall, President and CEO of Handyman Connection. “We are dedicated to creating customers and craftsmen for life, and nowhere is that more evident than with our top- performing franchise owners and the talented men and women who share their passion for high-quality craftsmanship in their communities.”

The highest honor of the conference was 2021 Franchisee of the Year awarded to Joe Cox, owner of Handyman Connection of Ann Arbor, Michigan. This award – which Cox has won in two previous years - is given to the franchisee who has excelled at attributes including sales growth, market presence and penetration, online review score and brand leadership. Cox was not only the top performer systemwide in 2021 but also earned the $2M in sales award and recognition for his growth in sales, which increased well over half a million dollars from the previous year.

Additional franchisees and offices honored by Handyman Connection for their 2021 business success include:

  • Handyman Connection of Pensacola, Florida: Owner Geoff Cook was named Rookie of the Year for his sales and service achievements since opening in March 2021.
  • Handyman Connection of Grapevine, Texas: Owner Ian Charters was recognized for his office achieving over 90% Sales Growth year-over-year.
  • Handyman Connection of Winchester, Virginia: Owners Bryan and Tiffany Peters earned the Brand Experience Award for the 6th year in the row. These owners continue to achieve the highest net promoter score, customer feedback response rate and online review score.
  • Handyman Connection of Eden Prairie, Minnesota: Owner Nate Bruen-O’Brien won the Navigator Award, given to the franchisee that positively represents the Handyman Connection brand and actively participates, leads and moves key initiatives forward system-wide.
  • Handyman Connection of Ottawa, Ontario: Owner Troy Manary won the Market Penetration Award as the franchisee that ranked highest in market presence within his local service area.
  • Handyman Connection of Winter Park, Florida: John Scobee was crowned Craftsman of the Year for his outstanding customer service, quality of work and professionalism.

In addition to Scobee, 15 more craftsmen were identified by their local Handyman Connection owner as Craftsman Brand Champions for their trade skills and business success. During the conference, they discussed tips for recruiting and retaining talented professionals like themselves and shared other valuable advice with the owners and craftspeople in attendance.

For more than three decades, the brand has offered homeowners across North America a complete resource for professional craftsmanship and exemplary customer service. Handyman Connection provides a variety of services ranging from traditional home repairs to painting, remodeling and more.
