Shipley Do-Nuts Makes Exhibitor Debut At 2022 Multi-Unit Franchising Conference

Fast-growing brand is actively recruiting franchisees in all markets

March 17, 2022 // Franchising.com // LAS VEGAS - Shipley Do-Nuts, makers of gourmet, made-fresh-daily do-nuts and kolaches since 1936, joins the 21st Annual 2022 Multi-Unit Franchising Conference as a first-time exhibitor, located at booth number 208.

Houston-based Shipley is in rapid growth mode. So far in 2022, it has signed new development deals for more than 70 new units, for a total of more than 350 planned units in the pipeline. Shipley experienced 26% unit growth from 2018 – 2021 and is expected to grow by more than 90% over the next five years.

“Last year was record-breaking for us in terms of growing our development pipeline and 2022 is moving even faster,” said Shipley VP of Sales and Development Luke Mandola, Jr., who is representing the brand at this years MUFC. “Not only are we building out our core markets in our home state of Texas, but we’re also getting a lot of interest from multi-unit operators in markets where we currently don’t have a presence.”

Shipley has signed franchise agreements for 25 units in Maryland and 25 units in the Atlanta area – both new markets for the brand. Earlier this month, Shipley expanded its Florida footprint with the opening of its first Tallahassee location.

The brand also recently announced signed new deals for 20 units in Texas, including agreements with Jack in the Box multi-unit franchisee Mohammed Ahmed and multi-unit operator Sam Khader, owner of Texas-based chain Dimassi’s Mediterranean Grill.

“We have a high-quality, craveable product that we know has widespread appeal to a broad consumer base beyond Texas, so our focus over the past year has been to build our internal systems to support the growth we’re now experiencing,” said Shipley Do-Nuts CEO Clifton Rutledge. “These steps we’ve taken have enabled us to attract highly qualified multi-unit operators who see the brand’s incredible potential and want to be on board as we step into our next 85 years.”
