Universal Pictures Teams Up With Razzamataz Theatre Schools

To celebrate the Home Entertainment release of SING 2 is available to Download and Keep 15th April and on DVD and Blu-ray™ 25th April.

April 08, 2022 // Franchising.com // Sing 2 hit the cinemas to rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. With its star-studded cast featuring the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Bono, and Tori Kelly, this singing and dancing animated film is fun for the whole family.

This new chapter in the Sing franchise arrives with big dreams and spectacular hit songs. Universal Pictures UK has partnered up with national franchise Razzamataz Theatre Schools to celebrate the Home Entertainment release of Sing 2, which includes 2 never-before-seen mini movies, sing-alongs to the hits from the film, a dance-along with renowned choreographer Sherrie Silver, outtakes with the above star-studded cast and more interactive fun for the perfect family movie night in.

With more than 22 years’ experience in the sector, Razzamataz is the perfect partner to promote the musical, dance, and theatrical element to the film. With more than 7,000 students across the UK, training in dance, drama and singing and performing at a wide range of venues, Razzamataz is delighted to be selected to bring the Sing 2 magic to its schools with a range of exciting events.

Kicking off the promotion is a unique opportunity for the students to speak to the film’s choreographer Sherrie Silver, a hugely experienced and talented dancer and choreographer who has worked with a range of stars and brands including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Rita Ora and Nike.

The Razzamataz students, ranging in age from six to 13, were lucky enough to ask Sherrie about her successful career and just how you choreograph for animated characters. This exclusive access enabled the youngsters to get a unique behind the scenes look at the filmmaking process, perhaps even inspiring them to step into this exciting career. The whole network of students will then get a chance to enjoy the choreography from the film with a Sherrie Silver masterclass who says: “I’m Sherrie Silver, the choreographer for Sing 2. I had a fantastic time working on the movie and I am so excited that you’ll be learning one of the film’s dance routines to celebrate the Home Entertainment release. Good luck and most importantly, have fun!”

Towards the end of April, all the Razzamataz schools will deliver their own Sing 2 workshops for more than 7,000 students.

There is also an exciting competition to win an incredible Sing 2 Blu-ray and prize bundle, including a backpack, inflatable guitar, water bottle, hair band pack, phone ring, pencil case and pair of Koala ears, to three lucky winners. For a chance to win this incredible prize, students will send a short video clip of them performing their favourite Sing 2 dance to their local Principal.

“We are so proud to work with the team at Universal Pictures UK to bring these wonderful opportunities to our students,” says Denise Hutton-Gosney, MD and Founder of Razzamataz. “The film is a celebration of performing arts, which is something we champion in our schools. The film shows how participation in the arts can teach you different life skills and build confidence and resilience, these are certainly qualities that we promote at Razzamataz.”

This year’s #1 animated film comes home for the first time in a special collector’s edition, jam-packed with 2 exclusive all new never-before-seen mini movies, super sing-and-dance alongs, and more!
