Hometown Resident Opens New Franchise in Whittier

June 09, 2022 // Franchising.com // WHITTIER, Calif. - The Camp Transformation Center, a different fitness franchise with community-focused gyms that have transformed thousands of lives across the United States, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newest location in Whittier, California. Owner Nick Bohorquez, a Whittier native and life-long fitness enthusiast, says opening a gym has been a goal of his for a long time.

Nick discovered The Camp Transformation Center through his mother. She joined when Nick was still working on his college degree. “My mother did a few six-week challenges and lost 60 pounds. It changed her life - she was so happy,” said Nick.

The six-week “20 Pound Weight Loss Challenge” is the Camp Transformation Center’s flagship program. It consists of group training with dynamic interval workouts, nutrition and supplement plans, highly qualified trainers, and a ton of positive emotional support. Nick went with his mother to a few of the classes, and they asked him to become a trainer. “I saw how the program was transforming lives, and I wanted to be part of that journey.”

After college, Nick worked long enough to save enough money to open The Camp Whittier. “It’s been a great success. After two months, we already have 140 members,” Nick explains. He says his favorite part of the business is helping people transform their lives. “I’m going to continue working as a trainer two days a week in order to engage with the members.” He hopes to open more locations - one a year for the next four years.

Founded in 2010, The Camp Transformation Center was born out of the realization that despite universal knowledge of how to lose weight - eat healthier and work out regularly - millions of people still struggle to get results. During an era of skyrocketing obesity, The Camp created a proven system to help this massively underserved audience achieve their goals.
