Beans & Brews Coffeehouse Unveils Development Deal to Bring Three Locations to Phoenix

Utah-based coffee franchise to make Phoenix-area debut

August 19, 2022 // Franchising.com // SANDY, Utah - Beans & Brews Coffeehouse announced a new development deal to bring three locations to the Phoenix area. The brand is partnering with Howard Sparks, Jr., his wife Brandi Adams, Marty and Tabitha Carter, and Pete and Paige Hargis to bring Beans & Brews to San Tan Valley and Queen Creek, AZ.

"This partnership marks a major milestone in reaching Beans & Brews' growth potential, and accurately reflects the quality of franchisees we are seeking to invest in our future," said Kim Falk, Vice President of Franchise Development. "Breaking into a new market like Phoenix is a tremendous step forward for us, and we look forward to ingratiating ourselves with the local community."

The partnership group brings a diverse background that makes them an ideal fit to expand Beans & Brews Coffeehouse further into Arizona. The group is confident that their combined experience within many different business sectors will allow them to be successful in bringing the brand to San Tan Valley and Queen Creek.

With a career in the finance industry, Howard Sparks, Jr. worked as a Fraud, Risk, and Underwriting Manager, where he learned to understand business processes, finances, and budgeting, which will play a key role in the growth and development of Beans & Brews in San Tan Valley and Queen Creek. Spark's wife, Brandi Adams, has a wide range of experience ranging from retail, accounting, to working as a pathology technician. Her previous work endeavors have enabled her to be detail-oriented, meticulous, and a strong asset in a communal environment.

Marty Carter, who served nearly 20 years in the United States Coast Guard, carries a decade of experience in the food and drink space, as he worked for a well-known fast-food entity prior to his new journey with Beans & Brews. Tabitha, Marty's wife, worked in the customer service sector for over 15 years. As a mother and customer service professional, she provides a patient presence with strong interpersonal skills.

Serial entrepreneurs Pete and Paige Hargis round out the partnership group. Paige currently serves as a full-time real estate agent in Arizona, while Pete owns and operates a sport training facility dedicated to creating a balanced life structure for athletes. The husband-and-wife duo also own a rental property company committed to providing homes to those who are not yet at a place to purchase a home.

"Our team fell in love with Beans & Brews after learning that it's a family business," said Sparks, Jr. "The brand's saying 'We don't just brew coffee, we brew community.' really resonated with our group, and we are excited for the opportunity to provide the community a place to gather and enjoy one another's company."

At Beans & Brews Coffeehouse, the brand focuses on embracing its unique mountain lifestyle and "come as you are" atmosphere all while delivering quality service and products. The brand's menu uses the finest ingredients and has been perfected after nearly three decades. It offers a variety of high-altitude roasted coffees, breakfast foods, sandwiches, sodas, and teas as well as numerous dairy substitutions, meat-free and plant-based products.

Beans & Brews Coffeehouse is also passionate about supporting its community through charitable giving. The brand launched its Brew Good program, which makes donations to different local organizations and nonprofits. Through the program, the brand's guests get to vote on which organization receives donations.

"Community is at the root of everything we do at Beans & Brews Coffeehouse," said CEO and founder, Jeff Laramie. "We work to not only provide our guests with a great space to enjoy their favorite cup of coffee, but we also give back to our communities and the charitable organizations that they're passionate about."
