Volofit Celebrates Fitness Innovation and Female Ownership at First Florida Studio

Caitlin Donato, a South Florida native and fitness industry veteran who has worked with some of the nation’s biggest brands, has introduced the Volofit concept to Pembroke Pines, Florida. The studio, which opened in August.

“Group fitness has always been a favorite for people here in South Florida,” Donato said of the studio’s early success. “People are always ready for something that is fun, results-driven, and avoids the plateau and boredom of a big box gym. That’s why I was so confident to join Volofit and bring this unique concept to my hometown.”

Thanks to the brand’s take on HIIT fitness, Volofit studios are able to shift their layout on a daily basis to offer a new, fresh workout each time a member visits. The flagship studio in Charlotte, North Carolina, is set to celebrate its first anniversary this fall.

As an area native, Donato committed to building support throughout her South Florida community even before cutting the ribbon – with the Mayor and Chamber of Commerce in attendance. Ahead of the opening, Volofit welcomed public involvement with events and outings around town.

“There’s something awesome about building this in my hometown,” she said. “It’s special to give back to the community that brought me up. The first thing you see on our wall when you walk into the studio is that we’re more than a gym. We want to build a community and our early members have already bought into that.”

While serving the wellness of her hometown was motivation enough, Donato points to another experience as her inspiration to take this step into business ownership.

“I’m a single mom, and my kids have seen me work in multiple jobs and roles,” Donato said. “It’s so cool for them to see me at every step of this journey as an entrepreneur, from getting the keys to an old mattress store and turning our studio into the incredible space it is today.”

Donato’s aim now is to continue building community involvement to further grow her own customer base and serve as a proving ground for others who want to introduce Volofit to their locations in the state of Florida.
