American Family Care Climbs Best-Performing Franchise Ranking

Nation’s Largest Urgent Care Provider Ranks Among Top Brands in Franchise Times Top 500

October 10, 2022 // Franchising.com // BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - American Family Care (AFC), the nation’s leading provider of urgent care, occupational medicine and accessible primary care, celebrates its latest ranking in the Franchise Times Top 500. AFC climbed to No. 75 on the newly released ranking of the best-performing franchise system in the country.

“Everyone with AFC has worked incredibly hard over the last year to continue expanding our brand and our mission,” says Paige Robinson, Vice President of Franchise Development. “This ranking is yet another testament to the dedication our team has shown. We wouldn’t be able to provide affordable, accessible, and quality care to millions of patients every year without our outstanding franchise owners and their employees.”

The Franchise Times Top 500 is an exclusive annual ranking of the 500 largest U.S.-based franchise systems by global systemwide sales. The project results from five months of research and reporting effort that leads to the most credible and objective franchise ranking available.

2022 marks the seventh year in a row AFC has been included in the list of leading franchise opportunities. The Birmingham-based brand not only ranked in the top 100 best-performing brands but also as the third fastest growing franchise based on sales percentage. With more than $1.62 billion in sales last year, AFC saw 88.9% in sales growth last year.

Not only did AFC find itself moving up among the overall franchises, but the health and medical industry, with 23.4% growth in the last year, also ranked among the top five fastest-growing sectors within the Franchise Times list.

AFC is celebrating 40 years since pioneering the concept of non-emergency room urgent care. Each facility features a high-tech, high-touch approach, including digital x-rays, on-site lab testing, state-of-the-art diagnostics, and electronic medical records. In addition, our clinics work to meet everyone’s schedules, with most clinics open seven days a week with extended hours.

The urgent care provider reported 4.5% in unit growth as they approached 250 locations last year. The increase continues, with AFC expecting to open its 300th clinic by the end of this year. The milestone puts AFC on track to have 500 locations across the country within the next five years.
