Multi-Unit Operator Opening Sixth Slim Chickens on Florida Panhandle

After two openings in 2021 followed by another two in early 2022, Richard Maddox and Becky Retherford continue to grow the better chicken concept with a new location in Navarre.

November 01, 2022 // Franchising.com // NAVARRE, FLA. - Slim Chickens, a leader in the “better chicken” segment of fast-casual restaurants, will continue expansion of its 100% all-natural, fresh chicken and unrivaled flavor in Florida with its newest opening on October 31st at 8008 Navarre Parkway in Navarre. In addition to the new location, Richard Maddox and Becky Retherford also own the Slim Chickens restaurants in Callaway, Panama City, Pensacola, Lynn Haven and Fort Walton Beach.

As multi-unit franchisees for the Slim Chickens brand, Maddox and Retherford have spent over 20 years building a career in the restaurant industry. The Navarre Slim Chickens location represents the brand’s sixth location in Florida in the past 24 months, all owned by Maddox and Retherford.

“After three successful openings in the area last year, we are very excited to bring our sixth panhandle Slim Chickens location to Navarre,” said Maddox. “The brand is known for bringing the community together with its southern hospitality and food, and we’re excited to share that with Navarre.”
