Waters Edge Wineries® Signs Franchise Agreement To Open First Location In Pennsylvania

January 06, 2023 // Franchising.com // Doylestown, Pa. - Waters Edge Wineries® announced it has signed a franchise agreement with Circa 72 Corporation to open its first location in the Keystone State. The newest Waters Edge Winery & Bistro will debut in downtown Doylestown, PA, a borough in the heart of Bucks County. It will be owned and operated by Eric Landolfi, who brings hospitality experience, previously operating a family-owned café with his brother. The Doylestown Waters Edge Winery & Bistro will be the franchise’s first location in both Pennsylvania and the Northeast.

“We are thrilled to continue our expansion, especially as we enter a new state, working with a dedicated entrepreneur like Eric, who is enthusiastic about providing a unique wine tasting experience for members of his community,” said Ken Lineberger, president, and CEO of Waters Edge Wineries.

A Pennsylvania native, Eric worked in the paper and plastic manufacturing business for more than 25 years after graduating from West Chester University. At that time Eric also continued working in the family food business which took root when as a child, he and his brothers would visit their father's small grocery store and sandwich shop. He and his brothers continued to service the community with their culinary skills for the past 15 years. The Doylestown location will offer small plates and tapas with a wide selection of various wines to truly encapsulate an upscale warm wine bar ambience for all patrons. A new production will include a ‘Winemakers Table’ to fit up to twenty guests to receive wine tastings directly from the tanks for deliciously aged wine to be enjoyed with entertainment, light food, and tapas-style appetizers. There will be an on-site micro-winery, producing in-house wine for tastings and take-home bottles with a customized label. His goal is to appeal to wine novices and wine connoisseurs for all to enjoy. A homebrewer of beer, Eric has dabbled in distilling his own spirits and is excited about the opportunity to make wine in-house.

“Being Italian, I’ve always enjoyed drinking wine and I look forward to further exploring this passion in a new way,” he said. “After meeting with Ken and the Waters Edge Wineries team, I immediately knew this concept would offer valuable resources and support as I work to build and grow a profitable local business that answers a definite need, and interest, in our local community.”

Combining elements of the traditional winery experience with the popular wine bar concept, Waters Edge Winery & Bistro locations serve as a lively hub within its communities, offering bistro-style artisanal selections of “farm to table” concepts including appetizers, flatbreads, sandwiches, salads and desserts, custom bottle labeling as personalized gifts, private tasting areas for groups, a wine club and more. This gives guests the opportunity to engage intimately with what has historically been a somewhat exclusive lifestyle, limited to select regions.
