School of Rock Palos Verdes is Ready to Rock N’ Roll

Palos Verdes grand opening to include live performances, tours, games and more

March 16, 2023 // Franchising.com // PALOS VERDES, CA - School of Rock announces the grand opening of a school in Palos Verdes, CA. The event will take place at877 Silver Spur Rd, Rolling Hills Estates, CA, from 10 am - 2 pm PT, on Saturday, March 18. Along with a ribbon-cutting conducted by the Rolling Hills Estates Mayor’s office and local Chamber of Commerce, the event will include performances by School of Rock students, studio tours, food from local shopping center vendors, games, crafts, an instructor meet and greet and prizes.

School of Rock Palos Verdes is owned by Jeff and Melinda Doll, who are both lifelong musicians and performers. Melinda, a classically-trained vocalist and pianist, and Jeff, who started playing multiple instruments before discovering his true calling as a drummer, lead their family band with their five talented children. In 2014, while living and performing as a family band in Modesto, CA, the Dolls saw the potential of a music program for children that prioritizes performance and a song-first teaching approach. They then discovered School of Rock and its curriculum and music philosophy. Despite relocating multiple times for work, Jeff and Melinda held onto their dream of opening a School of Rock that caters to children who share their passion for music. In March 2020, after moving to Los Angeles, they embarked on designing and opening School of Rock Palos Verdes.

We're excited to help children discover the joy of music through School of Rock’s patented and performance-based teaching approach. Our goal is to create a fun and supportive environment where students can learn and grow as musicians while building confidence and making lifelong friends," said Jeff Doll.

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons, and piano lessons.Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.
