Spherion Staffing and Recruiting of Illinois Acquires New Office in Bloomington

Local Staffing Agency Expanding Territory to Further Support Central Illinois Job Seekers

April 20, 2023 // Franchising.com // BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Spherion Staffing & Recruiting (Spherion) announced today that its presence in central Illinois has expanded with the procurement of an additional office in Bloomington.

Cindy Somers, franchise owner of Spherion in Decatur, Rantoul and Champaign, has taken over ownership of a former Randstad staffing and recruiting office. While the staff will stay on and continue to support Bloomington’s businesses and employees, Somers is excited to optimize the services offered through a strategic focus on local and regional staffing needs. The Bloomington office joins the three offices Somers already owns to create a comprehensive ecosystem of staffing and recruiting services across central Illinois.

“I’m incredibly honored that the Randstad team approached me to take over operations at the Bloomington office,” said Somers. “Bloomington is a great addition to the communities Spherion already supports. We’re looking forward to reaching even more people looking for guidance in their job search. While the team at the office is going to remain the same, I’m thrilled by this opportunity to share my expertise in the industry, and look forward to getting to know the community members of Bloomington and surrounding areas.”

Somers first joined Spherion in 1992 when she started working with her father, who opened the first location for Illinois in the Champaign area. Over the years, she’s made a reputation for herself within the Spherion franchise community as a dedicated and enthusiastic leader who’s passionate about helping others. She and her team are heavily involved in community outreach, often partnering with local charities like the Boys and Girls Club and the American Cancer Society.

“It was only natural that Cindy should take over the ownership and operations of the Bloomington office,” said Rebecca Rogers Tijerino, group president of Spherion. “When Randstad brought up the idea of an office transfer, Cindy was the first person who came to mind to take the reins. She’s shown time and time again her strength as a leader and dedication to Spherion’s mission. We’re fully confident in Cindy’s abilities to lead the Bloomington team with the passion and integrity that Spherion prides itself on.”

The Bloomington office is currently in transition, but businesses and job seekers can reach Spherion’s staff from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT.
