Spherion Staffing and Recruiting Franchise Owner Receives National Recognition with Innovation Franchisee MVP Award

Franchisee Honored for Dedication to Brand Mission and Recruitment Strategies

May 04, 2023 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA - Spherion Staffing and Recruiting (Spherion) is thrilled to announce that franchise owner Michael Chalmers recently received the “Innovation Franchisee MVP Award” at the Multi-Unit Franchisee Convention.

The winners, chosen from a long list of multi-unit franchisee nominees, are the country’s best and brightest power operators, innovators, and creative thinkers who have demonstrated outstanding performance in growing both their organization and their brands. Chalmers, who owns several offices in Alabama and Georgia, was given this award for his dedication to Spherion’s mission and ability to adjust to unexpected challenges in order to drive results.

“I am incredibly honored to receive this award,” said Chalmers. “My team and I have worked so hard over the past few years to make sure we’re providing job seekers with the best resources in the industry, no matter the situation. We’ve tried all different kinds of tactics to drive candidate recruitment, as well as gain new clients, and it’s been amazing to see those tactics pay off in such a huge way.”

The Innovation Franchisee MVP Award was given to Chalmers for his transformative recruitment strategies that drove results for the brand and his local offices. Some of the strategies included TV advertising with local stations, as well as “drive-up” hiring events during the pandemic. In addition, he owns several “on-premise” offices at client sites along with his full-service locations. Each “on-premise” office has a recruitment and account management team dedicated to assisting the client with their employment needs.

Not only has Chalmers displayed great innovation at the local level, he’s also made a large impact on the entire franchise community with the launch of the annual Sandy Mazur “Excellence in Leadership” scholarship. Chalmers launched the program in coordination with another franchise owner on behalf of the Spherion franchise community, along with the Richland County Foundation, which disburses grants for charitable organizations. The program awards scholarships to high school graduates of any age planning to pursue higher education.

“Michael has been an outstanding franchise owner since the very beginning,” said Rebecca Rogers Tijerino, group president of Spherion. “He’s truly dedicated to not only his own community, but the entire Spherion franchise family. He and his team have displayed such resilience in the face of adversity and proactively evolved the traditional staffing and recruiting processes to higher levels of success for achieving their goals. The results speak for themselves, and this award is incredibly well-deserved and a testament to the work they put in every day.”
