The Covery Wellness Announcing First Locations in Arizona

Energizing the health and wellness space, the franchise announces newest franchise partner in Phoenix area

May 12, 2023 // Franchising.com // Baton Rouge, LA – The Covery Wellness spa has announced their first expansion into Arizona. The brand has partnered with local entrepreneur Landon Burningham and his wife, Aubrey, to bring three new locations into Chandler, Gilbert, and Queens Creek.

With a background in entrepreneurship in the fitness and health industry, the duo was attracted to The Covery’s comprehensive approach to recovery, offering a wide range of services that address both mental and physical wellness.

“As more people become aware of the importance of recovery and wellness, we believe there is a growing demand for recovery services across the country, said Landon. “The Covery is well-positioned to meet this demand, and we are excited to bring it to new markets and help people achieve their health and wellness goals.”

Landon brings to the table 20 years in the fitness industry. In the past 15, he and Aubrey have owned and operated five health clubs under the brand Physiq Fitness, focusing on providing high-quality fitness services to their customers and establishing themselves as leaders in the industry. Their business was started as a leap of faith, after the couple struggled to find employment in a challenging job market.

“Using the last of our money and starting with just a pair of resistance bands, a spray-painted logo on a t-shirt, and some homemade business cards printed on my in-law's printer, I began going door-to-door promoting my services,” said Landon. “Our success was built on a foundation of persistence, determination, and a refusal to give up. Over time, we were able to grow our business into one of the most successful fitness brands in Oregon. Despite facing initial challenges, we learned to prioritize faith over fear and operate with integrity in all that we do. These core values have not only guided us through tough times but also inspired us to strive for excellence in all aspects of our lives. We plan to apply these same values to The Covery and cultivate a culture that embodies them. Our goal is to build a business that is not only profitable but also deeply meaningful and fulfilling for our team and customers.”

Outside of The Covery, Aubrey owns a successful short-term rental business in Arizona, and Landon operates a coaching business helping fellow entrepreneurs achieve their goals and grow their business, giving him valuable insights into the challenges of business ownership and the importance of strong leadership.

While the fitness industry evolves and continues to grow and embrace trends like HIIT, Yoga, and Pilates, The Covery Wellness Spa recognizes that there is a new space and service category in Self Care, and that recovery after these types of workouts is just as important as the workout itself. As the brand continued to grow, they realized that this concept applies to more than just those complete physical workouts. The stresses of daily life can be enough to require people to put extra emphasis on their recovery and stress relieving practices.

Tatum Crews, CEO of The Covery, voiced her joy for the partnership, stating, “Landon and Aubrey’s past experience as entrepreneurs in the wellness space, as well as their determination and passion for their work, will be invaluable to The Covery’s mission. We are thrilled to be working together to bring three new locations to Arizona to bring our comprehensive range of modalities to more customers and help the community reach their mental and physical goals.”
