Breakfast and Brunch Concept Opens First Location in Mississippi

June 26, 2023 // Franchising.com // Biloxi, MS -The Toasted Yolk, a full-service eatery featuring breakfast, lunch and brunch favorites, will open its newest restaurant on Monday, June 26 in Biloxi, MS.

The new restaurant is located at 902 Howard Avenue, directly across from the MGM Park. The building will feature indoor and outdoor seating, including a patio that seats 48. The café will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Toasted Yolk serves its unique breakfast and lunch specialties, as well as its boozy brunch cocktails that can be enjoyed at the full-sized bar or on the patio. The menus offer meals that can be savored throughout the day, allowing diners to enjoy egg specialties and coffee in the morning, boozy cocktails and savory pancakes at brunch, and a variety of delicious salads, sandwiches and soups during lunchtime.

The new restaurant will be owned by restaurant partners John Lockett and Ryan LaFleur. Lockett spent 22 years in the United States Air Force before retiring and opening six BBQ restaurants in Mississippi. He then sold those establishments and decided to get into the brunch segment by bringing the first Toasted Yolk location to Mississippi.

LaFleur joined Lockett six years ago and ran the daily operations for each restaurant. He is now co-owner of the Biloxi Toasted Yolk along with Lockett. LaFleur began working in restaurants as a teenager and has spent nearly 30 years in the industry, including more than 15 years of management experience.

“We know customers in and around the Biloxi area will love the Toasted Yolk’s vibrant interior, festive environment and full-service kitchen and bar,” said Lockett. “We are giving people an upscale dining experience for breakfast, brunch and dinner. We will have a variety of selections that can be enjoyed on a frequent basis.”

The Toasted Yolk Biloxi restaurant will hold its grand opening on Monday, June 26. Ten percent of the sales from the day will be donated to the University of Southern Mississippi Children’s Center for Communication and Development. The Children’s Center provides transdisciplinary services to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. LaFleur’s two-year old daughter with special needs receives treatment at the Children’s Center.

The restaurant will give away free donuts, sell half-priced mimosas and raffle off a chance for three customers to win free breakfast or lunch (one meal per week) for a year.
