Vetama Proves Concept with First Franchise Owner

August 04, 2023 // Franchising.com // Salem, OR - Vetama, a new mobile veterinary franchise start-up, has proven their concept through heir first franchisee. Founded in June 2022, Vetama set out to offer veterinarians all-in-one mobile practice ownership.

Using the founders’ personal mobile practice as a template, Vetama sold their first franchise to Dr. Kasey Joynt in Salem, OR in February 2023.

Dr. Joynt is a full-service general practitioner, offering a wide range of services, including at-home exams, vaccinations, diagnosis and treatment, surgery, and dentistry.

"I used to think mobile practice was stupid. I thought you couldn't be efficient, profitable, or increase access to veterinary care," said Dr. Joynt. "But once I started talking more with the Vetama team about their operating efficiencies I reconsidered. I was definitely nervous being the first franchisee. I didn't know if clients in my area would use a mobile service or if my practice would catch on.

Dr. Joynt had a goal of being a practice owner for a long time. Over the years, he was close to starting or purchasing several different clinics, but an obstacle always seemed to block his path.

Vetama provides veterinarians a fully electric veterinary van, practice manager, veterinary mentors, AI scheduling software, marketing strategy and execution, supplier discounts, and weekly meetings.

“When we started Vetama, our vision was to offer veterinarians the freedom of practice ownership without the hardships of going into business alone. We have had a lot of success at our own mobile practice, but that did not guarantee success for Dr. Joynt,” said Jacob Wright, CEO of Vetama.
