Nick Smith III alongside his wife Nicole Colon Smith, are the owners and operators of Dave’s Hot Chicken of Charlotte and will receive the award on Thursday Sept. 28.

The Elevate Lifestyle's annual awards ceremony serve as a commitment to highlighting local excellence, and is anticipated by residents and businesses alike. The "Best of the City" title is an accolade that underscores an individual's dedication, innovation, and influence in shaping the city's landscape.

Founded by Arman Oganesyan and classically-trained chef Dave Kopushyan, along with brothers, Tommy and Gary Rubenyan in early 2017, Dave’s Hot Chicken initially opened as a parking lot pop-up, with lines quickly wrapping around the block.
