Celebrations as Theatre School Franchisees Reach Significant Milestone
September 20, 2023 // Franchising.com // Razzamataz Theatre Schools has the latest franchisees celebrating their five year milestone. Matty Aitchison-Rayson took over Razzamataz West Cumbria in 2018, after being part of Razzamataz as a work experience placement when he was just sixteen.
Since then, he has gone on to achieve incredible things, both in his school and as a member of the Head Office team. He most recently was shortlisted for the community award for the In-Cumbria Business Awards, a reflection of the supportive environment he has created and the importance the school holds within the local area.
“Matty is such a huge part of our network, both as a franchisee and as a committed member of the Head Office team, managing our West End productions alongside other team members is just one of his crucial roles,” says Denise Hutton-Gosney, MD and Founder of Razzamataz. “I met him when he was still a teenager and to see the way that Razzamataz has enabled him to have the life that he wanted, is really quite magical, I’m very proud.”
Since becoming a franchisee, Matty has married and is now a new dad and it’s the flexibility of the Principal role that has allowed him to grow both personally and professionally. Matty explains: “Over the past five years, my journey as a Razzamataz franchise partner and Principal at Razzamataz West Cumbria has filled me with immense pride. Being part of this creative and inspiring network is an honor beyond words. Razzamataz isn't just a job; it's a thriving community where I've found unwavering support. Alone, I wouldn't have achieved this remarkable five-year milestone.”
Joining Matty is Michaela Crumpton, franchisee of Razzamataz Bristol South, who started out as a teacher before seeing the opportunity to become a Principal and a multi-territory owner. Like Matty, she has won multiple awards with the latest being shortlisted for the MTM MUSIC, MEDIA & LIFESTYLE AWARDS 2023 Category Season 11.
Michaela has always been passionate about ensuring that her team, students and parents understand that they matter, and their viewpoints are crucial in shaping the school environment. This has gone beyond the school with Michaela keen to support the network as Denise explains: “Michaela is so generous of both her time and knowledge and sharing with other Principals. She is always willing to give back and does it with the greatest positivity. She has been a wonderful member of the Franchise Advisory Council, and we are very thankful for all that she does.”
Becoming a franchisee has allowed Michaela the perfect work/life balance and it has been a fulfilling part of her life as she explains: “Signing up for five years owning a school has been the most rewarding time, watching the students and staff grow has been wonderful. Looking back at my own journey, I'm amazed at my personal growth too, it’s been an adventure which isn't over yet."
Kate Ward from Razzamataz Southend, has also renewed her contract and is another wonderful example of how Razzamataz offers ultimate flexibility. “Kate combines running her school with being a busy mum of five,” says Denise. “With most of the school holidays off, flexible work times allowing for pickups and drop-offs and never having to miss a school play or assembly again, we are proud to have plenty of parents within our network.”
Founded on the core values of nurturing creativity, confidence and life skills, Razzamataz has been transforming the lives of children and young people since its launch.
