Sylvan Learning Awards Franchisee, Veteran Second Territory in California

October 31, 2023 // Franchising.com // BALTIMORE - Sylvan Learning awarded a territory in Bay Park, Calif., to Chad Denham, a current franchise owner with an existing center in Del Mar.

Before venturing into the business world, Denham served in the United States Marine Corps. He went on to graduate from San Diego State University and then worked in high-level, business-to-business sales for more than two decades.

“I reached a point in my career where I wanted to do something I was passionate about, and Sylvan was the perfect fit,” said Denham. “Growing up, I had a challenging home life and struggled in school. I’m on a mission to help children dealing with similar issues by supporting their needs and building their confidence in the classroom to carry them the rest of their lives.”

Denham researched dozens of franchise concepts before joining Sylvan. “Not only did I see this opportunity as my passion, but I also realized I could really help my community in this post-pandemic era,” he said. “I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel either, so I was drawn to Sylvan’s ‘wheels’ already in place. Their support and systems have made it possible to grow into another territory.”
