Sylvan Learning Welcomes Lawyer as Multi-Unit Owner in New Jersey

November 30, 2023 // Franchising.com // BALTIMORE - Sylvan Learning awarded two new territories in Park Ridge-Montvale and Closter, New Jersey to local resident Michael Hazen.

Hazen spent the last two decades as a partner in a local law firm. “It was the right time for me to transition from a partner to a passion-driven entrepreneur, and I’ve always had a calling in education,” said Hazen, who worked toward his masters in education before switching to the law-school track. “I’ve always wanted to be a local business owner, and these new territories are practically in my backyard.”

Hazen found Sylvan to be the best fit for his new career goals. He said, “Sylvan identifies and addresses students' individual needs, rather than having a one-solution-fits-all approach. It made me confident that my investment will make a difference, especially in a post-pandemic era where students need it most.”

The Park Ridge-Montvale center will open this winter, followed by the Closter-area location at a later date.
